Colin Healy Design LLC is a residential design firm specializing in creative home transformations in Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven Counties in Connecticut.
Most of my projects involve reinventing homes to better support the evolving needs and passions of their owners and families. Over 25 years of helping homeowners define and refine their project goals, I have developed the “Next Step Home Design Process”. It enables me to guide you through the discovery of opportunities to successfully tailor your home to your family’s changing needs and dreams at each phase of life while always anticipating your “Next Step”.
My clients range from growing young families needing a better family room or expanded kitchen, to empty nesters with some spare bedrooms to put to imaginative new uses, to creating features like first floor master suites and home offices for living your “Third Age” gracefully and creatively.
I employ Universal Design and Green Design techniques to make your home safer, healthier and more comfortable for all family members, from youngest to oldest. This time-tested process assures that you get the home you always wanted, right now and into the future.

I wanted to replace an outdated and design-inappropriate solarium window bump-out, and add a new portico to the front of my 1930's house in a historic district. Colin took great interest and care in creating a solution that worked within the existing footprint, and blended beautifully with the rest of the house facade. He also suggested a few smaller exterior details, such as working window shutters with historically appropriate hardware. I am thrilled with the results, inside and out, and so are my neighbors! Colin was a pleasure to work with.

It was a pleasure to work with Colin. He was meticulous in his plans as well as creative in solving challenges to our kitchen and family room project. We had an older good-bones house with a very dated kitchen and family room. We wanted to integrate a more modern look to attract today’s buyers. In a very down market, we were one of the few houses in our neighborhood to display a Sold Sign.
